FAQs, Frequently Asked Questions

Event Planning

We work from start to finish on both commercial and personal events. These range from product launches, conferences and company award evenings to celebratory birthday, weddings and anniversary events. We’ve worked across all business sectors and are happy to provide references and testimonials.

We offer a comprehensive event planning service. We’re able to find venues, organise catering, décor, accommodation, staffing, equipment and even hire speakers for corporate events. We offer a tailor made service to fit your requirements. Every event is unique and we have the capacity to fulfill your requirements from start to finish.

We will discuss all your event requirements before giving a quotation as obviously fees charged will depend on the scale and nature of the event, complexity of planning and our level of involvement. We’ll keep in contact with you regarding our time, hours spent, and liaise with you on specific items, but we’ll also work to your budget and plan accordingly. You’ll never be charged more than we agree upon and there will be no hidden extras or surprises.

Event design and event planning work hand in hand to deliver a successful event. Event design is about bringing your event to life with appropriate colours, themes, seating, etc, whereas event planning co-ordinates the logistic elements and budget management.

Me & You Events offer tailor made events. This means we incorporate both event design and event planning to create that perfect event.

We consider the size and capacity of venue needed for the number of guests, facilities provided, parking, technical needs and budget constraints. We visit venues to check on the quality of the facilities and liaise with clients, keeping them informed of decisions made.

Whilst this obviously depends on the size and nature of the event, we’d always advise you to start putting plans in place as early as possible. At certain times of year certain venues may need to be booked well in advance, as too with reputable suppliers and vendors. We advise handing over the reins to an event planner as soon as you’re aware of an event to be planned. This gives us adequate time to factor in back up plans as well as leaving ample time to negotiate, plan and ensure everything’s in place for your big day.

We’re aware that sometimes things happen which are outside of your control. In the event of needing a refund for a cancelled event, do discuss this with your event planner as early as possible, before extra services and products may have been ordered. We will discuss our policies with you before entering into contracts and then liaise with you in the unfortunate event of an event being canceled.

We believe it’s important that all parties are aware of their obligations and responsibilities. This goes a long way towards maintaining professionalism, enjoying healthy relationships with loyal vendors and suppliers and ensuring our customers are always delighted with our service to them.

As event planning specialists, we totally understand your concerns. We’re always happy to answer any questions you may have and seek to put your mind at rest.

We offer everything you need for your next event, including event design, event management, event marketing, event catering, event entertainment, and all the other myriad services that help make every event we plan a huge success.

Yes we have a full list of DJs, Entertainers and Global Celebrities.

Marketing Service

Without proper marketing and ensuring your business can be found when someone searches, no one will know about you. Implementing simple, online marketing activities puts your business in front of more potential customers. Your marketing can educate them about the products or services you offer.

  • You build awareness and brand differentiation for your business by being visible to your prospects and clients;
  • You establish a solid reputation for your business by marketing your expertise through articles and blogging;
  • You distinguish your business from the “competition” by staying visible and promoting your expertise;
  • You can evaluate your marketing efforts by the results you are seeing in your business. If they work, keep doing them; if they don’t work try something else.

Without a written marketing plan, your business is making decisions on the fly. This results in disjointed marketing efforts, wasting time and resources on activities that may or may not work for your business. When your plan is written down, you become more focused. Committing your goals, strategies and activities to a written document is the only way to avoid losing sight of what we want to achieve – turning our ideas into proven reality.

Digital Marketing

Absolutely! Almost every business—large or small—can benefit from digital marketing. Here’s how it can work for your company:

  • Broader Audience Reach: Digital marketing gives you the ability to reach a global or local audience, depending on your needs, through various online platforms such as social media, search engines, and websites.

  • Cost-Effective: Digital marketing strategies like social media ads, email marketing, and search engine optimization (SEO) are typically more affordable than traditional advertising methods, such as TV, radio, or print ads.

  • Targeted Campaigns: You can target specific groups based on demographics, location, interests, and behaviors, ensuring that your marketing efforts are reaching the people most likely to be interested in your products or services.

  • Measurable Results: With digital marketing, you can track your campaigns in real time, analyzing data such as website traffic, conversions, and return on investment (ROI). This allows you to refine your strategies for better results.

  • Brand Awareness: By consistently engaging with your audience through content marketing, social media, and email campaigns, you can boost your brand’s visibility and build trust and loyalty among your customers.

  • Competitive Edge: Many businesses are leveraging digital marketing, and to stay competitive, it’s important to adopt these strategies to reach potential customers who are online.

  • Scalable & Flexible: Whether you're a small startup or an established business, digital marketing is scalable. You can adjust your strategies based on the size of your business and your growth goals.

Search Engine Optimisation is the practice of using on-page and off-page tweaks and tactics to ensure that your page ranks higher on search engines. An example of one of these tactics is making sure that this blog is a minimum of 1000 words because that’s what Google prefers. We use SEO with all our client websites online to help boost their companies online

Creative Service

We offer a wide range of creative services, including graphic design, branding, web design, content creation, social media marketing, video production, photography, and copywriting.

The time it takes to complete a task depends on several factors, including the complexity of the project, the scope of work, and the specific creative service you're requesting. Here’s a general breakdown:

  • Simple tasks (like small design edits or social media posts): Typically 1–3 days.
  • Moderate tasks (like logo design or website updates): Usually 5–10 business days.
  • Larger projects (like brand development, full website design, or video production): Can take anywhere from 2–6 weeks, depending on the details and revisions required.

We usually provide an estimated timeline during the initial consultation based on the project’s complexity and your specific needs. Would you like a more detailed timeline for a particular type of project?

You can create as many graphic design tasks as your plan allows, however you can only have one task listed as ‘in progress’ at a time. Once your task has been completed, the designer will then begin working on the next task, if you have one ready. We recommend prioritising your graphic design tasks to make sure they’re being worked on as you need them.

You can make 3 revisions to your task. You should let your designer know of any revisions as clearly and as early as possible the delivery of your task isn’t delayed.

Some examples of what revisions are:

  • Fixing grammar or spelling mistakes
  • Changing the font type
  • Small layout changes
  • Changing colours
  • Changing a picture because it’s not in line with your brand

Revisions are not:

  • Entire text changes
  • Full concept changes
  • Requesting new options

Please note that changes to your brief may lead to the designer asking you to create a new task and may charge you for this.

We are committed to deliver a brochure to your satisfaction, we will work towards complete satisfaction in the first instance, and request for change varies from one to 3 based on the package you choose.

Definitely, ensure that you provide clear instructions on the redesign..

Absolutely.  Why would you risk your event, wedding or party photography being captured by someone you haven’t seen, spoken to or seen a selection of their work? We will check availability with the team and send over some portfolios so you can take a look at their recent work and know what to expect from their pictures of your event.

It depends on the type of project.  An event will usually give around 70 images per hour, a portrait shoot will usually be c. 10 per person for you to select from.  We can discuss individual requirements with you beforehand so that you know what to expect.

Me & You Events uses an easy to use online gallery system to share your images with you. From this private gallery, you can share images with with your direct or extended campaign team. From here, you will be able to securely download all content direct to your computer. We also supply printing services via our print partner.

Yes - our photographers and filmmakers are required to hold public liability insurance for location and studio work.

If our photographers or filmmakers are on location for longer than 4 hours and there is an opportunity to provide them with refreshments, we kindly ask that you allocate some time aside for them to be able to eat and have a break.

We don’t generally charge for travel unless your venue requires us to book flights or ferries, for example. If your event is a fair distance from our base we may ask you to provide a night or two accommodation so we can ensure we are at your event promptly on the day, without the worries of traffic. (Don’t worry, we don’t require anything fancy!) This will all be agreed before you book us, so there will be no hidden charges.

Web Development

Our website packages usually range from £650 – £4997. However it really depends on what kind of website you need.

It takes approximately 6-10 weeks to build a website from start to finish, providing we have all the information from you. Generally speaking, the website will only take a long time if we are still waiting for text and images from yourself.

Before we begin working together, we’ll usually have an initially chat on the phone or via Skype, Zoom to discuss the project. Once we get started, most of the communication will take place over email.

This makes the process a lot easier as we’ll have all of the information saved and can come back to it later.

We offer a risk-free guarantee. Before we build your new website, we’ll design a mockup of your homepage. We’ll design a layout in Photoshop first, that way you’ll get to see our initial designs within approximately ten days. This is your opportunity to give us feedback and if you really don’t like it, you don’t have to move forward. Best part is, this won’t cost you anything.

Yes, we split the payment into two. The first 50% is usually taken once you have seen the mockup of your homepage and you’re happy to move forward. The following 50% is taken 30 days after this.

If we build your website, we will generally manage the hosting for you so you don’t need to do anything. We use the same hosting company for our own website and for ALL our clients. Each website is managed individually to avoid any security issues. Every website we build has unlimited bandwidth, 20GB of disk space, 2GB Ram and 99.9% uptime. We’ve used the same company for 24 years and we don’t plan on changing this anytime soon.

No. We only use WordPress to build websites. We have used other platforms in the past but not anymore. WordPress is a platform that’s easily accessible for our clients to update themselves, it’s search engine friendly and it’s easy to integrate with third party companies.

Yes. Your website will be fully responsive and will look great on all devices. We don’t charge extra for this. It comes as standard.

It depends. There’s no clear answer to this question as search engines change their requirements all the time. However, we have had clients get to the first page for their main keywords within 2 days of launching and we’ve had websites take 2–6 months for Google to show them on the first page.

However, there is no guarantee you will ever get to the first page of Google for your main keywords, some of your competitors might have huge marketing budgets or have been there for years.

If we build your website, we will host it for you and you don’t need to do anything. We pay the hosting fee for the first year and we’ll send you an invoice once a year thereafter.

Of course. You’re buying a website from us. It’s the least we can do. As long as it’s available for purchase, we’ll buy it for you and pay for the first year. We’ll send you an annual invoice for the renewal along with the hosting fees.

Obviously, if the domain name costs more than the average of £10-£20, then we’d have to discuss this with you!

The legal reality is that a website we built has many assembled parts and you may be surprised to learn who owns each part and what you’re really just leasing this will state on your contract.

You may think your website is yours, but there are certain things you actually license instead. You should have the ability to continue to license these aspects, but you will never have ownership over them.

We are currently running over 682 trusted website client all over the world so your site is in safe hands. Please do speak with us if you have any other questions.

We are unable to move our websites to other web providers. We’ve been hosting websites for nearly 25 years and have built up a strong knowledge of what businesses need.  As part of any development project, we may include 3rd party technology to provide some specific functionality in your application. This could be in the form of a WordPress plugin, for example. Although many are free, each premium 3rd party technology we add to your application will require a licence.

During the build process we can manage any licence necessary for a project. We will purchase the licence, take care of the admin and ensure keys are correctly installed and securely stored.

Many of the licences need to be renewed annually. Any plugins or additional technology required as part of a software or development will be managed by us and we will undertake the renewal process for you.

It depends on the nature of the correction:

  • If the mistake was on our part, we will correct it free of charge.
  • If the mistake was made by you or your team, a fee may apply depending on the time and effort required.
  • Minor edits (such as small text changes) may be done as a courtesy, but larger corrections will be charged at our standard web retainer rates.
  • For ongoing updates and edits, we offer maintenance plans to keep your website up-to-date without unexpected costs.

Regular updates keep your website fresh and relevant. We recommend updating your content at least every few months, and we offer ongoing maintenance plans to help with this.

Yes! Videos can be embedded from YouTube, Vimeo, or uploaded directly. However, we recommend embedding to avoid slowing down your site’s load time.
